Tuesday, March 31, 2009 ( Praying & Fasting @ 1:01 PM ) As we approach a week of Prayer Meetings, it is always good that we make praying a lifestyle. When we pray, tremendous things begin to happen and immense power is released through prayer and fast. I recently re-read an article which Pastor Phil wrote on how we sharpen our ability in life and in God through fasting and prayer. It is inevitable in today’s context to have absolute no control over things in our life but there’s one thing we have certainty in; prayer defeats temptations and obstacles in our life. I’ve posted this article in this entry because I know you’ll be mightily blessed through it! And for those of you who are still deliberating whether you should attend the Prayer meeting, let me help you by telling you who needs to attend it. (An abstract taken from Pastor Phil’s journal) How do you know if you need to attend the prayer meeting? If your family hasn't all yet come to Christ. You need to be at the Prayer meeting If all your friends haven't yet come to Christ. You need to be at the Prayer meeting If you're not coping with pressure well. You need to be at the Prayer meeting If your marriage is a little bumpy. You need to be at the Prayer meeting If your children are not living like they should. You need to be at the Prayer meeting If your parents are having difficulties. You need to be at the Prayer meeting If your relationships aren't working well. You need to be at the Prayer meeting If you feel emotionally stretched. You need to be at the Prayer meeting If you're anxious about a situation. You need to be at the Prayer meeting If your friends are backsliding. You need to be at the Prayer meeting If your own fire for God has cooled. You need to be at the Prayer meeting If you're not in love with the Bible and God like you used to be. You need to be at the Prayer meeting If the devil is obviously and easily attacking you. You need to be at the Prayer meeting If God seems afar off. You need to be at the Prayer meeting If your gifts and calling are not functioning like they used to or like they could be. You need to be at the Prayer meeting If you're about to start a new venture. You need to be at the Prayer meeting If you're about to make a big decision. You need to be at the Prayer meeting If you're about to finish something or change something. You need to be at the Prayer meeting If you think there is things the Church needs you need to be at the Prayer meeting. If you think people in our church could be more blessed. You need to be at the Prayer meeting I strongly encourage every one of us to make it for the Prayer meetings. If it’s a struggle to haul yourself out of bed in the morning, there’s always the evening Prayer meeting you can attend at Riverwalk and Jurong West. As we are going through different phases of life, all the more we should lift our lives to God and allow the Holy Spirit to move within us. Here’s the long awaited article!
